7th Grade

Eldorado PK–8’s 7th grade program invites students into a year of deeper inquiry, hands-on learning, and growing independence within a close‑knit school community that knows and supports each learner. Our team teaching model helps teachers understand each student’s strengths, challenges, and learning style so we can provide timely support, targeted small‑group instruction, and enrichment for students ready to advance.
Academics
Math: Students extend understanding of ratios, proportional reasoning, and pre‑algebraic skills. Instruction blends collaborative problem solving, technology‑based practice, and real‑world applications to build confidence and readiness for higher math.
ELA: Students practice close reading and evidence‑based discussion while writing across informative, narrative, and argumentative genres. Independent choice reading and regular teacher conferences support growth in comprehension, analysis, and voice.
Science: Students explore a dynamic life science pathway, studying cells, genetics, human body systems, and ecosystems through hands-on labs and inquiry activities. Collaborative investigations strengthen scientific reasoning and deepen understanding of how living things grow, interact, and adapt.
Social Studies: Students study the Eastern Hemisphere—from early civilizations to the present—using document analysis, discourse, map skills, and critical thinking to explore historical continuity, cultures, and global connections.
